Principal’s Message

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to our new and updated website for the M.Islam Medical & Dental College and M.Islam Teaching Hospital, Gujranwala. I hope you will find it useful to get some information regarding most of the activities and developments that are taking place at our institution.

MIMC & affiliated Hospital has all the opportunities to enable our students to acquire the required knowledge and training in a safe purpose-built medical college, well equipped with spacious lecture theaters, laboratories, and skill labs. The highly qualified and experienced faculty ensures the transfer of updated knowledge and encourages active learning to make our students self-directed lifelong learners.

We are working on major reforms in our curriculum to align our program with the new medical education standards. Our DME aims to move from traditional teaching to a well-structured, student-centered, integrated, system-based curriculum. A fully equipped skills lab has also been integrated into the curriculum to help groom of psychomotor skills of students of MIMC/TH.

MIMC/MITH aims to be the major contributor to biomedical research in the county and region. Through the motivation and dedication of our students, faculty, and management, we are expecting very prosperous years to come in terms of significant scientific contributions that will help humanity. We continue to deliver high-quality companionate health care to all Pakistanis through more than 500-bed facilities in MITH. With our well-trained clinical staff and students graduating from our college, we hope to be a major contributor to health care in the country.

Our students have been the center of all our activities since the inception of our institute. We believe in nurturing creativity, individuality, and leadership in them. Our students have played an integral part in most educational and community-based projects. We also encourage our students to participate in extra-curricular activities. These activities provide students a platform to interact with each other that helps in grooming their outlook as competent, knowledgeable health professionals with good communication skills.

I would like to acknowledge the generous and continuance support from our management and from the University of Health Sciences, Lahore without which all this would not have been possible. I would also like to thank the previous Principal and all members of the faculty for their dedication and hard work. Special thanks go to all our healthcare workers, nurses, and administrative staff. Last but not least, I would like to thank our students and graduates for making us proud.

A lot has been done, but much more hard work is awaiting us. Together we will make the difference.
